Course Description

2 hours of continuing education credits are available, through R. Cassidy Seminars for professionals who complete “From Ragged to Resilient,” a self-paced video course.

Burnout and vicarious trauma exist as universal risks for psychotherapists and allied professionals exposed regularly to the suffering of those for whom they provide care. 

This 2-hour workshop reviews and applies the literature on burnout and on resilience to resource helping professionals to better understand both the risks and opportunities associated with stress exposure through one’s work. Participants will take away immediately actionable strategies to limit and ameliorate the toll of such exposure while also learning interventions to build resilience and post-traumatic growth.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • Participants will be able to identify 3 risk factors for burnout.

  • Participants will be able to describe 2 individual and 2 organizational strategies for ameliorating vicarious trauma or burnout risk. 

  • Participants will be able to define the terms compassion satisfaction, vicarious resilience, and post-traumatic growth.
